How are candidates shortlisted for the SSC GD Constable post?

Staff Selection Commission manages the recruitment process of General Duty Constable in forces like Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and many other prominent organizations engaged in National Security.

The SSC GD Constable selection process is based on the framework to analyze the physical and mental fitness of the candidates. The SSC GD Constable 2021 exam will be conducted in November and December 2021 under three different stages:

Stage 1: SSC GD Computer Based Exam

Stage 2: SSC GD Physical Standards/Efficiency Test 

Stage 3: SSC GD Medical Test

Stage 1: SSC GD Computer Based Exam

The SSC GD Constable 2021 computer-based exam is an online exam held in English and Hindi and consists of the following sections:

  • All the questions will be objective-type questions.
  • The total time duration will be 90 minutes only.
  • Each question carries one mark.
  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

The minimum marks required for qualification to the next stage are 35% for General and Ex-Servicemen categories and 33% for SC/ST/OBC categories.

Stage 2: SSC GD Physical Standards/Efficiency Test

The shortlisted candidates are called for the Physical Standards or Efficiency Test. These tests are done to check the physical fitness of the candidates. The number of candidates called for the Physical Test is ten times the number of candidates to be finally selected.

The candidates should have the given physical standards to be eligible to clear the Physical Efficiency Test. The eligibility criteria for Male and Female candidates are as follows:

For SC/ST/OBC candidates, there is a relaxation for both Male and Female candidates. The height required is 162.50 cms and 150 cms, respectively. The chest criteria are 76 cms only.

The candidates will be covering a certain distance in specified time duration. The details for male and female candidates are as follows:

 The candidates who are declared unqualified in Physical Standards can appeal on the same day to Appellate Authority nominated by the Presiding Officer (PO).

Stage 3: SSC GD Medical Test

Medical Test is the last stage of the selection process for SSC GD. Document verification is also done along with medical examination. Once the candidates clear this stage, they are considered eligible for the post. The details for the SSC GD Medical test are as follows:

The candidates do not have any right to appeal against the findings of Recruiting Medical Officer or Initial Medical examination. They can produce a medical certificate proving the error of a judgment in the decision of Recruiting Medical Officer, SSC Recruitment Board can accept an appeal.

If the Appellate Authority accepts the appeal, then Review Medical Examination will be conducted by CAPF RME Board. The decision of the CAPF RME Board is final, and CAPF RME Board will entertain no appeal after this medical examination.

SSC GD Constable 2021 Final Selection

After completing the Medical Examination and the marks scored by the candidates in the computer-based examination, the final selection is made. The candidates are required to fill in the choices at the time of filling up of form. The Posts are allocated in the following organizations:

  4. Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
